I am the queen of procrastination. I can remember being in elementary school and being up enduring my mother’s yelling because I had waited until the last minute to make some poster. Or type a one page book report. Or waiting until 10 mins before my mother came home to even consider cleaning my room, which at that point was mainly shoving everything under my bed. I know procrastination life well.
Not too long ago, I realized all my procrastination started with the words “I need to…” or “I have to…” or “I need to do better about…” Quit saying those things. They are NOT helpful. They are NOT actionable. Here’s a thought. JUST DO IT. If you are in a down moment when you realize you “Need” to do something, you could just take a moment and do it.
If you’re busy, add it to you daily to do list and make it actionable. Break it down in pieces and get it done.
